France is preparing to experience a "black Tuesday" in transport. The unions hope to last 13 weeks.

The galley in transport is (re)gone. Rail lines closed, train traffic very disrupted this Tuesday morning: at the SNCF, the "rail battle" started Monday evening by railway workers against the government's reform project promises to be massively followed. At the call of the four unions (CGT, Unsa, SUD, CFDT), nearly one out of two railway workers is on strike, nearly eight out of ten drivers. The management expects one in eight TGVs in circulation, as for the Intercités. For Ile-de-France residents, one train out of two is planned on the RER A, one out of four on the D.

SNCF's 4.5 million daily passengers will experience a "black Tuesday". Alternative solutions are called carpooling, bus or teleworking. "This strike will be very penalizing for our customers," warned Guillaume Pepy, the boss of SNCF. Designed to disrupt traffic as much as possible, the movement is scheduled to last until 28 June, at the rate of two strike days out of five. Only SUD-rail called for an unlimited strike renewable by 24 hours.
